Making a good film is never a quick or easy process. Before you can make a good film, you've got to come up with an idea - be it a full blown storyline or maybe a compilation of shots made into a tribute of sorts. I've found my best ideas come at a totally unexpected time when I'm not even thinking about making a movie. Other times listening to...

The "Black sky" Bug
The sky is constantly black during the day.
This problem is normally caused by the following .dll files missing "msvcp71.dll" "msvcr71.dll" and "msvcrtd.dll".
Click here to download the DLL's needed. Simply extract them into your Orbiter installation directory.
Gravity readout on "Orbit MFD" always equals 0.00

There have been several threads about Orbiter's performance (or lack thereof) on Vista & Win7. This is intended as a discussion thread about solutions to the problem--please refrain from Windows or Microsoft bashing here, and take that to the appropriate threads. This thread is not the place for that sort of thing.
For the last week or so,...

Since Orbiter's atmosphere model has been discussed quite a bit recently, I finally decided to revisit and rewrite the Earth atmosphere model. I have selected a moderately complex model (L. G. Jacchia, Thermospheric Temperature, Density, and Composition: New Models, Smithson. Astrophys. Obs. Spec. Rept. No. 375, 1977) which covers the range from...

I believe someone wanted a list of some calculator programs we use to help us do stuff in orbiter. Most are development related so that's why I'm posting here. If anyone has any other programs, just post below!
Comments are annotated as //comment don't include that in your code.
-> Means "store to" a variable the sto key on the calculator.

Important information for addon developers:
From the next version, the Orbiter executable and its associated libraries will be compiled with MS VS2005. This means that addons linking to the orbiter library will need to be compiled with a compatible compiler. Specifically, backward compatibility with MS VC++6 is not guaranteed. If you are still...
