HASA update - A new year
A quick overview of what happened last weeks:
SNOFAS-1 readied for launch
SNOFAS-1 was transported to Kourou early December. There it was unpacked of all of its protective covers and being tested for the last time. Then, on December 29th, it was placed on the payload adapter, and encapsulated by the protective fairing. The roll-out of the Ariane 4 is scheduled for January 3th and the payload will be transported to the launchpad on January 5th. Launch of SNOFAS-1 will occur on January 8th.
Chapman 1 transported to Kourou
The Chapman 1 probe, HASA's first step to outer space, is transported to Kourou late December. There, it is being readied for its flight to Mars on February 1st. The launch vehicle, a Soyuz + Fregat, is completely assembled and ready for launch. Exact roll-out dates are To Be Determined.
New space station will get another name
The new space station, that will launch later this year, will get another name. This due to the fact that 'Domus' is not correct. What the new name will be is not yet chosen.
HASA begins development of the modules for future bases
HASA has started the development of the modules that will be used for new bases on the moon, mars and beyond. When the (inflatable) modules are completed, they will go to the shore of WideAwake, and then they will form a mock-up for a future lunar base.
ME-4 being readied for launch
ME-4 is being readied for launch. The Ariane 6, that will launch the CSM, will be put together next week. The crew is also ready for the flight. They won't be learning anything new for the mission now, just training of what they've already learned
And that concludes this update. Thanks for your interest
