ISA Projects List

Posted 01-29-2011 at 07:02 PM by garyw

The International Space agency has several ongoing projects to enhance
our understanding of space and in support of
commercial ventures.
Below is a list of those projects. ISA are
currently accepting applications from potential astronaunts
and other staff.

ISS Support - As part of the agreement for ISS support ISA oversee Soyuz and Progress launches to the ISS.
ISA also launch Delta-glider vessels to perform maintenace on the ISS or to
deliver replacement crew. This missions often have additional elements to test out equipment for upcoming tasks.

As an example, DG-15, the next mission to the ISS will also test out some components for Mars infrastructure and will release a micro satellite for tracking from Overton.
ISA are also involved in Ariane support for the ATV and JAXA for the HTV-2

Lunar Support - Similar to the ISS Support in that the upkeep of the
lunar habitant is a prime requirement as is exploration.

To date, exploration has been limited due to other requirements but that
is expected to change slowly over the next few increments as additional support is put in place to allow further traverses. A key goal here is the revisting at least one lunar landing site to see how the hardware has faired.

Additionally, fabrication has started on an experimental lunar orbit fuel depot. There are also plans for three lunar e-tdrss satelltes (enhanced tdrss) which will allow s band transmissions even on the far side.

Commerical Support - ISA stands ready to assist companies with launching payloads to LEO, GEO, Beyond or running experiments on the ISS or the moon. If you have a space bound payload, we can get it where you want it. ISA is also ready and willing to help fledling commercial space agencies to enter the space market.

Exploration - ISA is fully committed to exploring the solar system. With probes in orbit around Venus & Mars and one en route to Asteroid 1991-VG and two on the launch pad ready to head to Jupiter our committment to exploration is second to none.

Mars - ISA has moved from the conceptual design to the testing phase of the Mars exploration programme. This phase
will see Mars hardware and procedures testing prior to the commitment to landing on Mars. A full Mars landing programme will be unvieled shortly.

And more... ISA's facilities aren't just about space but about the necessary testing and training to make space missions a success.

I wonder if ISA provides support for R&D projects.
Jarvis SC Developement Division would be glad to hand some of current projects in capable hands of ISA's test pilots.

Interesting.... We haven't taken on any test or development projects yet but I don't see any reason why ISA pilots couldn't handle that. After all they are the best.
