Developement is going as well as walking under water. That time-skip propagation function is giving me more trouble than I initially thought, one simple reason being that I didn't really think about what it involves... Anyone observing the space maths thread might have witnessed my extreme clumsiness to even identify the correct function when it was presented to me on a silver tablet. But I totally have to take fuel consumption into account, because the fuel masses we are talking about for an interstellar...

getting it done

Posted 10-11-2010 at 02:41 PM by jedidia

Orbiter Galaxy has been streamlined a lot lately, it never crashes anymore... on MY machine, we'll see how it puts up on others. Though I don't expect any trouble, you never know what happens.

For Win7 users it was probably fortunate that I got around to finally update from Win2k (longest OS in use in my whole lifetime, full 9 and somewhat years in service. DOS 6.1 is next with about 6 years of usage, closely followed by Win95 with 5 years. Let's see how long 7 will keep working!),...

Personal Project - Falcon 9

Posted 06-06-2010 at 02:00 AM by n122vu

After many months (years, actually) of wanting to get into addon development, I finally set aside some time today to begin work on a mesh for my own personal use as a learning tool for developing better addons in the future. I've chosen for my first project the SpaceX Falcon 9 launcher. I know there are already at least two other addons available for this launcher, but I wanted to create my own addon start to finish and felt this one was as good a place as any.

I decided the fairing...

Space Telescope

Space Shuttle Discovery lifted a new space telescope to orbit for the LSA. A few targets, like Ida weren't visible at the time.
"It was the most beautiful launch I have ever seen," said a spectator," right after lift off the shuttle had that reddish glare that you normally see in orbit on a sunrise or sunset." In orbit Discovery quickly deployed the space telescope and left, but Discovery is still in orbit now. One of the first pictures received was one with Jupiter and...

Orbiter Forum Space Station Mission 9 Report

Posted 09-22-2009 at 01:52 PM by Hmuda

After a successful resupply mission to the OFSS, I present the official after-mission report to the community.

The Delta Glider 4 was rolled to the runway. It was then powered down until the crew and cargo loaded.

After starting up the APU, the crew checked the critical systems.

After...
