External MFDs allow sim to remain focused

Currently, when you use an external MFD, it will steal focus from the sim until you click on the main window again. This disallows joystick inputs and makes it impossible to use input boxes produced by external MFDs if 'focus follows mouse' is off. It also becomes problematic when using multiple monitors (in my case, the lower monitor is a touchscreen).

Ideally, MFDs (and other floating Orbiter windows) would allow the main Orbiter window to keep focus, allowing uninterrupted control of the sim and use of input boxes. An example of such a feature can be seen in TouchBuddy. Would this be possible?
