Well... let's see if I understand this correctly...
You fly the Shuttle into orbit. After the external fuel tank detaches and you try to use an MFD, your computer does a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). Right? Anyway, this never happened to me. Do you use any launch autopilots? What MFD are you trying to use? When does it crash?
Could you please tell us exactly how you get to this bug? This will help us help you.

There is not enough information to follow this up. There is no obvious connection between detaching the shuttle tank and the behaviour of MFDs. - Can you confirm that this happens with a vanilla orbiter installation without any addons?
- Does it happen in glass cockpit view, in the virtual cockpit or in both?
- Does it happen only with the shuttle and only after detaching the tank, or under any other circumstances?
- What if you start a scenario where the tank is already detached?
- Fullscreen / window mode?
- Which MFD mode, or all of them?
- Turning the MFD on/off, or clicking a function button of an already open MFD?
- Anything else that might give me a minimal chance to identify this problem?
