I saw that vehicle being tested in the desert on TV. It's a really well thought out system. It can support astronauts for up to 2 weeks, allowing for extended far reaching missions from base, it can move in any direction without rotating the vehicle as well. The bubble on the front allows for close up inspection without having to leave the vehicle, and, IMHO, the best feature is the suit port which allows EVAs quickly, with minimal gas loss, and most importantly, the suit remains outside keeping nasty lunar dust out of the vehicle. I think it's pretty obvious that the developers did their homework on this job, and have come up with creative solutions that will enable explorers to explore more, and maintain less.

I have a DLL that can be used for this. All I need is a mesh. Can someone convert the sketch-up model to Orbiter mesh for me, and confirm that I have permission to use it in my car.dll add-on?

This sounds like a good reason to pick up car.dll development again. I could add 6-wheel simulation, for instance.

Edit:
I've had a closer look at this design, and to simulate the whole thing (including e.g. sideways driving) will take some more work. I think the first version will only support 'normal' forward, backward and steering.

Here's a raw, unoptimized conversion to try. Mesh is hyooge (5.4M) so give it time to load.

Looks nice, but for a two week roving duration it ought to have solar panels on it--the mass of a fuel-cell system for that kind of duration would probably significantly exceed the mass of a solar power system.
