Don't forget what you still have... ReactionEngines is still the best what the UK had as rocket engine designers.

Yes, Reaction Engines look good, and I hope they get success.

I wish lol... The ironic reality with your point here is that they (Top Gear) knew the thing would never work before the launch, but they did it for the ****s and giggles... Let's just hope the real agency won't live out the same fate!

In reality I don't think we will see much difference. I think it's great we are singling out the agency and bringing attention to it, but my money is on them just being the point of contact through which we deal with ESA. I'd be very suprised if we saw any truely new projects on our sceptered isle.

"Beau"-rocracy? Is that a new kind of social structure where only the Robert Pattinson lookalikes are in power?

Thinking about it, there must have been a real Major Tom in some space program. Maybe before Bowie left the planet though...

As a child of the 80s, I prefer the Peter Schilling version with its West German new wave sound. And Shiny Toy Guns did a nice remake of it recently, too.

Hopefully this agency will at least be better than the South African one.

The ironic thing is, the South African Space Agency probably stands a better chance of reaching the Moon than NASA currently does!

But Mythbusters is, IMO, much better than the Brit equivalent - Brainiacs - which is a little bit too childish for my tastes.

Plus, Mythbusters has Kari Byron...

Exactly. But Brainiac has also a less serious premise than Mythbusters. I like actually watching both. Some people I know also helped in a German TV show for testing if rockets can be used for making loops with a swing.
