Default Orbiter 2010 Edition Hall of Fame
by hribek 01-01-2011, 06:56 PM

Here you can post your "best scores" in challenges that are included in the Scenarios\Orbiter 2010 Edition\Challenges folder by default. These are:

Challenge 1 - Launch and docking
Challenge 2 - Lunar transfer
Challenge 3 - Advanced lunar transfer
Challenge 4 - Entry and landing

Try to keep your used fuel amounts in only one post and edit it if you break your personal record. Playbacks and videos are, of course, very welcome!

Make sure you fly the challenges with all Realism and Perturbations options enabled in the Parameters tab (Auto pad refuel is optional, will not have any effect). DG should have its default Isp value.

Eventhough, we already have a Post your built-in challenge scores in this thread, i have to admit that i like the "Hall of Fame" idea.

But we have to come up with more challenges!
If we just use the ones that come with the 2010 edition, we'll soon start to try and see, who used 1/2 a kgr less fuel to perform the challenge.
Playbacks should be a MUST, for proving that what you say you did is true... but
they almost always not correspond to the actual flight. (at least when it comes to fuel usage).

As a not-so-modest ad, Precession MFD allows one to log most important parameters, including mass, and these files can be displayed by TelemetryBrowser.

Oh well. I couldn't find the previous thread, although I searched for it.

Maybe one of the reasons was that it's tagged [Question].

Challenge 4. Re-entry with SO little gasoline.

Please say the truth: it is impossible.
In direct retrograde I arrived to 993 Kms.
But isn't this the most efficient way?

Could someone give us(me) a tip?

Thank you verymuch for helping.
Fly me to the moon is my song.
Now I can get home.
I burn all my gas by now but i'm improving.
Oh, and for the second challenge i'm around 3.000 kg in a coarse flight.
