Default project sorpendarin- redesigned
by Sorpenderin 02-28-2012, 02:37 AM

NOTICE:the sorpendarin project described here is out of date,up until "continuation" the new sorpendarin project, will be started on page 10 of this thread, although i recomend you read the whole thread, just to get an idea of whats going on.
sorpendarin

i am starting a new project called sorpendarin(i have not realy started;but thinked up ideas for it). i gave a short breifing of it in my"introducing sorpenderin" post.those of you that read the post will recall that i am only almost 9(tommorows my birth day)so i am not ready to build a spacecraft let alone build a giant intergalactic travel resorce;so i hope other people help when i am at that stage. but how do you travel to intergalactic distanses without some super fantasy drive? well have you ever heard of a fuison ramjet? so first; a spacecraft accelarates to 1g for years until it reachs a surtan speed; then it uses its ramjet to suck in hydrogen and converte it into fuel. now according to the crew they would reach the ege of the visible universe in a human liftime; but back on earth; billions of years may have passed.the sorpedarin project will consist of 3 vessels;one of them dosent have to be used with the rest of the resorse.i will show you that one first.

the first vessal is good for exploring the soaler system. it is called sorpendarin
it can acomplih interstealer travel.here is its basic shape

======o
===

------------------------0
=== -
===
======o

now comes the"big bang wich creates a universe. you can change what is in the universe or how big it is by going insde it(i may change that cause who ever heard of a big bang with a cockpit). once you activate the big bang the
scinerio will reload and you will find yourself sarounded by stars.now how do you get there? thats the job for the fuision ramjet.you simply press some buttons and youre on youre way.once you make it beyond the stars orbiter will again reload with more stars. once you make it beyond the milky way orbiter will reload in intergalactic space.if you want to go back to earth it may be gone or a burning ruin.

well thats it for my sorpendarin project. hope you like it and feel free to post a coment.

continuation:

now that i realise that my original idea for sorpedarin is to far feched, i will be making sorpendarin into a series of addons that will be not only interstellar based, but also including earth bases, new ships ,sorpendarin repaints for already made ships, new planets and planets acting as uneverses.

sorpenderin, hopefully will be a super-addon that adds a new dimension to orbiter exploration,or it may become a complete faliure

SORPENDARIN

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

ps. i hope to do some development on sorpendarin soon,
sorry to keep you waiting so long

Happy birthday!

If I understand you correctly, you're talking about flying from one star system to another. If so, an add-on already exists that will allow you to do that, it's called Orbiter Galaxy. You can find more information about it here:

There is an add-on which has a Bussard Ramjet - can't remember the name of it! Not sure it works in 2010P1 either - but it had a fairly nice VC and panels for the systems. Was that Deepstar?

i hope your T key is in functioning order
in your universe, how many galaxies will there be? Now, If I were you, I would start by making a Planet, then an orbiting body (Moon) around it, if you can do that, move on the making a star, then a planetary system that won't rip itself apart. just duplicate that a couple billion times, with variations of each system, you have one galaxy. Taking into account that there's that many systems in one galaxy, one could say that there could be that many galaxies in the universe. May I suggest leaning your talents into a less time consuming project ? Like a DSV, or a new shuttle addon. we need one of those...

Anyways, best wishes, do hope you finish this, it sounds like a very interesting project!

thanks. i am intending to make diferent packs of galaxys called seeds.
one seed contains 100 galaxys. once you leave one seed another will apear. i will tell you more about this in a later post.by the way,the sorpendarin project does include a DSV called sorpendarin

Ok, so, one section will contain 100 Galaxies...that's a huge distance to cover to get to the next seed...in fact, unless the dV of Sorpendarin was very...VERY high, it would be a very long time in the sim, even at full time warp. I would think a procedural generator for the galaxies would be easier, and slightly faster to make.

Smile Cool to see children trying to make Orbiter add-ons!

I saw that from your introduction post that you are now 8 years old? If so that's beyond awesome! I don't think many children in the world is doing computer models and make them into add-ons at such a young age (For example, I was only just going into books about space when I was at that age).

Good luck with making this spacecraft! (but I should put a warning here: making an Orbiter add-on is much more difficult than making a large Lego model.... )

sorpendarin is a Fusiun ramjet. i think they have the ability to reach the ege of the visible universe within a human life time but when it gets back to earth it will find billions of years may have passed. i will probebly make a ship time MFD to do this.

---------- Post added at 04:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:02 PM ----------

i will now tell you a more deitailed explanation of the seeds. all of the galaxies in a seed are actuly just giant moons but when you get close to them the scenerio will re load with you in it. if you reach the ege of the first seed a new seed will apear and the previus seed will turn into a shell then it will be trans formed into the same seed but after how ever long it took for you to explore

---------- Post added 03-05-12 at 12:55 AM ---------- Previous post was 03-04-12 at 04:11 PM ----------

i can not do all of this on my own. so when i actuly start working on it, i will need somewons help. here are the things i will do

. make the sorpendarin space craft
. make the inside and outsides of the ramjet and big bang
.making part of the shiptime MFD
.making seeds and shels
.making the moon version of the galaxies
. making some star systems

and here are the things i need somewon else to do.
.make more systems.
.set this thing up so it works
and here is somthing i will need to know: how can you make the solar system small enough to fit in the shuttles payload bay without editing the config file?
if you want to help please write back help

You can make a small solar system - small enough to put it into the cargo bay of the ship, but you won't be able to move it around with the ship.

You've already split up your project into manageable chunks. I suggest you start by making some star systems first. You can find some tutorials here:

thats ok. i was only planing to make it smaller so i can fit more star systems at the correct places. also;im going to shrink the ships too. is this all possible
without editing a config file?

Short answer: Yes
Long answer: No

You can make the mesh smaller by editing it in an editing program, but the vessel would still have a high mass, engine exhausts would come out where they did before and so on. You can't really make the vessels behave as if they're smaller without editing the configuration file.

Editing the configuration file is easy, but it won't work for every vessel. Some vessels have a DLL module and all the important information is written inside those - you can't edit those.
