    Author Assist: Quantum Engineering Question

Hello my friends (and those who may have met me via a few attempts at Space Engineers), Its been some time since I visited Orbiter. I hope all of you are well and enjoying life to its fullest and most fulfilling. I'm hoping to again call on your expertise to help me though a block in the story...

Gaming Space Engineers (now in BETA)

If a server goes up I'm definitely interested in participating. I openly admit I haven't played very much and still have a lot to learn. But I think knowing people in-game could help smooth the rough edges faster. Keep me posted please.

Gaming Space Engineers (now in BETA)

Solid game, I've owned it for roughly a month now. I'm very impressed with the developers responsiveness to suggestions and feedback. I'm curious to see how this sandbox game will mature. Typically these types end up many against a few, the strong (established) against the upstart(weak), the...

    Information Request

Thanks Unstung, very helpful. I don't shy away from reading but sometimes the comprehension needs an assist. The sensor info should prove helpful! I wrote in multi-spectral sensors to be generic but wanted to add something more concrete for my more scientific readers (yep, I have more than a few).

    Information Request

Thanks to you both. The issue I'm having is like Krikket said, so much information. I can't be sure what information to project from in writing sci-fi novel.

    Information Request

Hello my Orbiter friends, I'm working through another novel and have come across some sciences related areas that need clarification. I've been researching subject matter for some practical questions and have found myself ending up with more questions than answers. I'm hoping you guys can come...

    Digitizing DNA

I read somewhere that in raw binary it only takes 2 bits to store each nucleotide - that would only be 800 megabytes, or slightly more than a CD. I also read that the storage capacity within human DNA is practically beyond comprehension - 700TB n a single gram of DNA...

    Digitizing DNA

I've recently read that it may be feasible to digitize animal and plant DNA and store them on hardware media. I think the article was related to space exploration but I can't be sure. I'm researching for a new book and, of course, I cannot find the reference to that recollection anywhere online...

    Question What are you reading?

Apologies for the repost BUT I really think this groups would LOVE this book (not mine) Hello again everyone, I just finished a sci-fi book I downloaded from Amazon for .99 and immediately thought of the folks at Orbiter. The Martian by Andy Weir The story is mostly in journal entry form as...

    Question What are you reading?

Hello again everyone, I just finished a sci-fi book I downloaded from Amazon for .99 and immediately thought of the folks at Orbiter. The Martian by Andy Weir The story is mostly in journal entry form as the main character uses what materials were left behind by man and his knowledge to...

    Question What are you reading?

Just started Galactic Exploration by Peter Cawdron. Very interesting. A bit heavy in the science (you guys may enjoy it). Galactic Exploration is a compilation of four closely related stories following the exploration of the Milky Way by the star ships Serengeti, Savannah and the Rift Valley...

    Thank YOU: My Book Release

True, but for now, because of the progam I'm enrolled in on Amazon, I cannot distribute the story electronically outside their website. For at least the next 90 days I'm committed to Amazon, their format, and their rules. I'm pretty sure there are converters out there.

    Thank YOU: My Book Release

Eventaully, I'm hoping to have a paperback ediition made. I'm jus trying to find the most cost effective way to do this without each book being 15+ dollars.
