Have you tried making the parasail+ship as one spacecraft3 ship (parasail is docked to the ship as specified in the .ini file), and then attaching that combo-ship as a payload to the parachute?

Have you tried simply leaving the P,R,Y thrust lines out of the .cfg all together? Multistage should automatically compute a default value if you do this.

Could you post the contents your Orbiter log right after the CTD? It's the text file named "orbiter". Could you also post the contents of the .cfg file for the planet you are having trouble with? That would help a lot. :)
