    Gaming Kitbash Model Club

If it's possible to connect it to the PC and see it as a game controller, you can definitely map your tx radio in the game. It is just about possible to make a drone type vehicle, but admittedly the existing motors and props are not optimized for it, so it might have difficulty keeping itself...

    Gaming Kitbash Model Club

Hi Everyone, We are going around the interwebs today talking about it, but OF being the place where everything started for me, I wanted to write a more personal post here. For the past 6 years, I have been working on a new project. It started out as a simple idea for an RC airplane simulator...

What do you do for a living?

I'm a game dev, as some of you probably know. :) Currently I'm working on my new game, Balsa Model Sim, where you can design and fly scale aircraft and aircraft-like things. In whatever spare time I can find, my hobby is DIY simpit controls, which I guess is like four hobbies in one. ?

    Gaming Balsa Model Flight Simulator

Unfortunately, I don't have any plans at the moment for a dedicated Linux version. The development team consists of entirely two people, so we just don't have the manpower to support more platforms. However, people have reported being able to run Balsa on wine, AFAICT, without issues. Cheers

    Gaming Balsa Model Flight Simulator

Just wanted to let everyone know, Balsa is now available to play on Steam, as part of the Steam Games Festival happening this week. During the festival, there will be a demo version of Balsa available for free, so you can check it out now. :)...

    Gaming Balsa Model Flight Simulator

Well, no, I don't make any claim for the game flight model to be able to reproduce anything in real life to any degree of accuracy. My goal for the flight model is just for it to feel authentic and self-consistent. That said, the flight model is detailed enough to model many effects of flight...

    Gaming Balsa Model Flight Simulator

Hi everyone, Bumping the thread here to let everyone know, we are starting sign-ups for the Closed Beta phase for Balsa. :) The sign up form is available here. Also, we've got a new video out now, where I talk about plane building in the game, and make a sorry attempt at designing a good...

    Gaming Balsa Model Flight Simulator

Not sure what you mean with real world physics exactly, but they are definitely not arcadey physics, that much I can say. Any aerodynamic simulation in a game needs to be an approximation in some form or another, because a true simulation of flight requires modeling air as a fluid, which means...

Oh yes, I called it the DeltaRay Mk1. It's going to be one of the stock craft. Cheers

    Gaming Balsa Model Flight Simulator

Hi, So, as of today I can talk about the game I've been working on for the last two years or so. I don't know if there is a lot of overlap with the Orbiter community, but I think of OF as a home base of sorts on the internets, so I think it deserves a thread of its own here. It's called Balsa...

    Reentry - An Orbital Simulator

Indeed, before KSP had a floating origin implementation, you'd start to see FP jitter really quick. IIRC, about 10k out from the scene origin is enough to start seeing some shaking. Cheers

I'm doing an AMA in a couple of days!

Hi again, just to let everyone know, the AMA is now live: https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/9i9ovv/i_am_felipe_harvester_falanghe_creator_of_kerbal/ I could, I think, but wouldn't it be simpler to just use the current AMA to ask Orbiter questions? Cheers!

I'm doing an AMA in a couple of days!

Hi, Poking my head out after quite a while (just now realizing how long it actually was!), and just wanted to let everyone know I'll be doing an AMA on reddit this Sunday, and of course you're all invited. Cheers

    Drones.

I own a Bebop 2, an AR2 drone and a Rolling Spider minidrone. They're all lots of fun. The Bebop has a badass camera, the AR2 is highly moddable, and the minidrone is great for indoors and training. Seeing this thread though I feel like I didn't put enough effort in assembling them. :P The...

Gaming Subnautica & Subnautica Below Zero

I love this game. I'm hooked on it all over again now with the new Cyclops update. I just wish I hadn't saved the game with my sub and prawn suit parked at the active lava zone before updating. That didn't end well. I really like how organic the game progression is though. There is no tech tree...
