I didn't use Blender 2.49, and I don't know how 2.49 orbiter plugin works. I've just created my module from scratch. Glad to hear that it's better, thanks.

Yes, it's a standard 3d-view.
I've just imported Atlantis VC, and then positioned the viewport inside the cockpit. It's very easy and I don't know what could be difficult here. Of course, 3D view is in GLSL mode, and there are some lights in the scene.
