Question Import Lua functions to Orbiter 2010 from Orbiter 2016?

Hey all. I know it's been quite while. I'm working on an Orbiter project in which I need a Lua terminal command tp pull up MFDs, so that you could enter something like "ops 1" in the terminal and get Surface, Align Planes, IMFD. Or whatever other combination you want. After a long search I...

Problem Delta Glider IV terrain elevation problem

Actually, there are some workarounds you can use with the DG-IV, though I haven't tried it on the moon in O2016 yet, so I couldn't tell you about that. However, for example, you can deal with the crazy yaw trim on Earth runways, by taking off using PRO110SPEC0, using your wheel brakes to steer...

Flight Question Sling Planning in IMFD?

You can set the periapsis altitude in IMFD in the initial planning before you ever take off, by selecting MOD, then Offset Disabled, and use the + button to change this to Vel. Frame. Then you select Rad and set it to your desired periapsis. I set mine to 70M (70,000 km), remembering that the...

Flight Question Sling Planning in IMFD?

It gives it to you in seconds, under the TIn number. If you were using TransX, you would convert for the notation, divide this number by 86,400 and add the result to your current MJD to get your arrival date. In IMFD, you enter the TIn number from Transfer MFD directly into the TIn field in...

Flight Question Sling Planning in IMFD?

I know this is one of those things you aren't really supposed to be able to do...but I think I might be close to cracking it. I started by using a combination of Transfer MFD and the scenario editor to find the Jupiter-Saturn window. Then I entered that information into IMFD on the right...

    General Question Transx: Earth to...Earth?

Very nice, but actually that's not what I'm trying to do, and I'm well aware that TransX can't provide launch guidance from the surface--although I did actually try to do it once, and it would be really cool if it had that feature. My problem is, although TransX can be used to plan pretty much...

Do you ever think of your car as a spacecraft?

Well, I once remarked that transitioning from the Delta Glider IV to the XR-series is like driving a stick when you're used to an automatic...

Thanks! I'll try that and get back to you:)

    General Question Transx: Earth to...Earth?

This is just a little thought process I've been kicking around, and I'd like to get some input on it. I am sure this is right under my nose, and I'm gonna feel really dumb when someone explains it to me:P How to do you sling from one planet to the same planet? In other words, is it possible...

Problem OGLA: Frustrated to my wits end

Well. I was shocked and delighted to get the D3D9 client working after what I was sure was a Hail Mary effort:blink::hail: I have never gotten D3D9 to work in Orbiter on any of my machines. I'd always operated under the notion that it was just plain off limits to me. I've gotten used to OGLA...

Problem OGLA: Frustrated to my wits end

DDR to to GDI did not work--instead of just Orbiter crashing, my whole computer locked up--so I changed it back. SCE to AUX, maybe?

Has anyone successfully rendezvoused with the ISS?

Very interesting. So...could one say that Orbiter is already realistic in terms of the kind of data you would have available? I'm pretty sure the Dragon capsule doesn't have anything like TransX  So what would be the best restrictions to put on myself in Orbiter to get the most realistic...

Has anyone successfully rendezvoused with the ISS?

Well, that's certainly one way to look at it--Ground can send you any sort of data your ship is equipped to receive. But can they actually see your periapsis/apoapsis/whatever change in real time? Or are they in a Heisenberg situation, where they can only estimate?

Has anyone successfully rendezvoused with the ISS?

Very interesting discussion going on here. It brings up something I've been thinking about for a while--which Orbiter MFDs are not technically cheating, and what would it take to do anything without the ones that are cheating? I can already imagine Surface MFD would be okay, and the radio and...
