I am using Orbiter 2016 base version (not beta r90) with D3D9
I am having problems trying to use transX to plot a course from the earth to the moon whilst siting on the surface of the earth. I have been watch David Courtney's 2010 orbiter tutorial videos where he shows how to use transX to get to the moon from earth while still sitting on the surface of the earth. the problem I have is Transx does not show a solution whilst on the surface of the earth. Things I have tried;

planning a trip from the earth to the moon from the earths surface ..... doesn't work
planning a trip from the earth to mars from the earths surface ..... Works
planning a trip from LEO to the moon ..... Works
instaling Orbiter Beta r90 with D3D9 ..... CTD when selecting TransX (or TransX 2)

If anyone has any advice on how I can plan a trip to the moon from the earths surface please let me know.

As far as I know you can't plan translunar trajectory on Earth.
Can you give us a link to the video where David uses TransX for translunar plan?

Sorry my bad. I just watched the video again and what he does is starts out on earth and then uses the scenario editor to put him in orbit just before he does the plan on transX.
