90377 Sedna is a large planetoid in the outer reaches of the Solar System that was, as of 2012, about three times as far from the Sun as Neptune. Spectroscopy ha s revealed that Sedna's surface composition is similar to that of some other trans-Neptunian objects, being largely a mixture of water, methane and nitrogen ices wi th tholins. Its surface is one of the reddest among Solar System objects. It is most likely a dwarf planet.
Sedna's orbit is between 80 and 170 AU from the Sun. It's perihelion will be reached around 2075â2076.
Update 1: New surface map texture.Update 2: Epoch parameter corrected.Update 3: Surface map's colour corrected.
