Lighthouse (Lagrange point pseudo-planets) 2011-08-30

lighthouse.jpg

Lighthouse (build 3 - Aug.31, 2011) by wishbone.CAUTION: Both bodies for which the lagrange point is computed should implement CELBODY or CELBODY2 interface.
CHANGES: Pseudo-planet. Mesh with welcome sign.
Do you want to get to Lagrange points with IMFD or TransX? If yes, simply add a Lagrange Lighthouse to your Solar System.
Add line: PlanetXX = SunEarthL1 to the Sol.cfg, where XX is the number of planets in Sol.cfg so far +1.
This will add the Sun-Earth Lagrange point 1 pseudo-planet.
To add more points:
1. copy SunEarthL1.cfg into a new file, preferably following the convention Body1Body2LX.cfg.
2. change line Name= to the name of your new point.
3. change BODY1, BODY2, and LPNT lines in the .cfg file to match your needs. LPNT stands for Lagrange point, valid numbers are 1 to 5.
4. copy SunEarthL1.msh in the Meshes folder into a new file with the same name as your point and extension .msh.
5. add this pseudo-planet to your Sol.cfg.
6. Enjoy!
Tested against Orbiter 2010P1 (100830). All programming errors are wishbone's. The code is public and most likely written by someone else. This is work in progress, so some things may not always go as planned.
Credits and acknowledgements:
Grover for the initial mesh.
Dr.Martin Schweiger (Orbiter).
ajaja for the source from the wonderful Lagrangian points MFD.
NASA WorldWind for time-saving code.
BrianJ for ideas and the GRAIL mission add-on, which directly influenced my decision to return to Lighthouse.
It is expected that Orbiter community will make better meshes and skins for individual Lagrange points.
