News Add-ons working in Orbiter 2016

Not as glad as I am, lol I have never understood this sense of entitlement and I doubt I ever will. Many seem to believe it is an inverse function of age, but I don't think this is accurate - To me it seems the further one is removed from work the more entitled to its output they feel.

News Add-ons working in Orbiter 2016

No, it's complicated, but we're publishing betas for 2016 now and it's a feature scheduled for the next major release. I posted a thread in addons with the details. There sure is a lot of hostility toward developers here; Not everyone can afford to put their entire life on hold to immediately...

    NASSP NASSP Development Builds

NASSP 7 is approaching release. For the past while now, we've been using AppVeyor to build release packages with each repository push. As the release gets closer these are increasing in quality and are almost suitable for public consumption. The releases can be downloaded from Github at...

    Orbiter 2016

If I already downloaded the extra textures for the 2015 betas, do I have to download them again for 2016 or can I use the ones I have?

    Question NASSP Forum

Rob Conley runs the forums, I think. I don't have any direct contact with him and I don't have any direct access to the server either. If it doesn't get fixed in another few days I'll assume it's not coming back and make other arrangements.

New Orbiter Beta Released (r.44, Dec 5 2015)

That's an option too. We have to redesign everything as separate vehicles anyway.

New Orbiter Beta Released (r.44, Dec 5 2015)

martins, I'd like your input on something. For Apollo, when the Saturn 1st stage engines ignite, there is a device to hold the vehicle down until thrust has built up to full. We simulated this in 2010-P1 by applying a large negative force to counteract the thrust. In the new versions the default...

New Orbiter Beta Released (r.44, Dec 5 2015)

Is there is a bug tracker or something where stuff for the beta should go?

OS WARS MEGA THREAD (Now debating proprietary vs. open-source!)

You seem to be under the incorrect impression that the average Windows user is Microsoft's customer. The average Windows user is a PRODUCT being sold to Microsoft's true customers, and Microsoft is very much working in their customers' interests.

SSU Development Thread (2.0 to 3.0)

It's LVDC++ IGM Reloaded! (AKA "Oh for f--k's sake, what the h--l is it doing now?") Here there be dragons, abandon all hope ye who etc etc etc. Add your next-of-kin to your forums profiles so we can notify them when you stop posting. (Never stop posting)

    News Shoreham Airshow crash.

Yep, here comes the knee-jerk prohibitions to firmly slam the garage door after the barn door was found open and the horse escaped.

I concur, it looks like an out-of-focus object near to the camera rather than a cloud. It's probably either a bird or piece of airborne trash.

    Here's to Bob Cat

All of my cats are named for some derivation of the word "cat". Bob Cat and Tom Cat are fairly obvious. For awhile I had a black cat identical to my sister's black cat, so mine was the Dupli Cat. He moved out with my ex-roommate. When the new kitten arrived she immediately started acting like...

    Here's to Bob Cat

Yesterday, my cat Bob had a stroke while he was asleep on my bed. He was at least 15 years old. We're not sure of his real age. The vet said he probably never knew what hit him, and his last memory was probably laying down to sleep. It was a small comfort that he probably didn't suffer. He had...

License Wars MEGA THREAD (now with GPL!)

http://www.lunar-tokyo.net/OALP/OALP.html Here's the test interface for the license picker. All of the important pieces should be there. There's probably still issues in combining multiple source or multiple asset licenses in the same project (mixing someone's ARR assets with someone else's CC...

    Touchdown points?

That might work. I'd have to work out how to make the fuel consumption the same or it will screw up my stage burn time. Getting that right in 2010 was a chore too.

    Touchdown points?

The code I had previously "works", but I have to find out how to use the new interface because I need to define an incompressible landing gear. (Is this possible even with the new interface?) When the Saturn 1st stage engines ignite, there is a device to hold the vehicle down until thrust has...
