ORBITER-FORUM will be temporarily closed at 2026-07-23 18:00 UTC while we complete some OF maintenance tasks. The amount of downtime is expected to take up to one hour, but probably less.
Works in normal mode now!
I'm finding that the launches tend to abort though unless I remain in cockpit view till orbit - anyone else find this happening?
Great work though - will be a nice addition to orbiter.
For some reason the dropbox link doesn't show anything for me - it's just blank - is it possible to post elsewhere?
Great work - look forward to trying - Many thanks!
Really amazing results with the surface tiles - certainly adds another dimension to thee AMSO release - much welcomed. Would love to see Fra Mauro if possible - many thanks!
All the best in the new year everyone - great work and community here - peace!
For Borg - in amso once in EO you need to use LTMFD to perform TLI. Once on Lunar course you need to perform Transposition and docking and mid course corrections. Near moon - you use LTMFD to enter lunar orbit - etc, etc - if you read the read me with AMSO you will see there is lots to do!
Will you be releasing this project at all? I've been trying to land with APPO but no luck. I was able to use the multistage saturns to launch and get to the moon - I had to alter some of the scens to get the LM in the right orientation. Does fairly well with non landing missions - Apollo 7...
This is a fictional mission I did with the Centaur and OrbiCom.
To run you will need:
OrbiComm Satellite v0.86 (hotfix)
STS-51 Acts Satellite

STS-71J October, 1987
Pad 39-B
Fictional mission carrying Centaur-Orbicom. Launch to 170k altitude.

Hi Pappy - there is no Columbia "mid" texture yet - if you leave nothing in the scen file you get the "late" texture if you put "original you get the "original" texture. Having "mid in the scen file you end up with a naked orbiter. I find a similar problem with the Challenger - it appears...
So my thought is if we can get the eva to capture the satellite then get the arm to grapple and place in the pallet that would be great. I know there are limitations with the program, but would be neat to simulate the capture and return of the two wayward satellites.
Yes - they can't be grappled or "docked" to the pallet / EVA astronaut. I guess, what I'm wondering is if the mission is doable - as in recapturing the errant sattelites and returning them to earth as in the real mission.
Thanks - just asking.
Hi Gattis - thanks again for all your work - you are like Santa in the spring!
On thing I'm trying to work on is STS-51A. I've got this working so far with your Spaceshuttle2016:
