News Changes to the SpaceX BFR rocket.

This was Yusaku Maezawa's exact original plan up until the first flight of Falcon Heavy back in 2018. He and one other person will ride a Crew Dragon on a circumlunar trajectory. Post-Tesla, he was most likely convinced to change his mind to ride on Starship instead when the Falcon Heavy isn't...

Vessel Commerical LEO destinations and other space stations

I think they need to be defined as both CHILD and PARENT attachments since most likely the arm must move anywhere the station like the Canadarm2 is doing at the ISS

The concept arts highly indicate that Starlab is going to be launched in one piece, i.e. its propulsion and habitat modules are bolted together permanently

Yes, the Starlab is designed to fit inside the Starship's cargo bay in mind after all

Except for Axiom, which will co-orbit the ISS until the latter is decomissioned, we know virtually nothing about the specific orbital parameters for either Orbital Reef, Haven-1, or Starlab. All we know is that they are going to be placed in LEO

Updates Artemis Program Updates & Discussions

I'd understood why Gateway is planned to be placed in high lunar orbit than a low one. Less time for communication blackouts by simply going behind the Moon on Earth's perspective, and (pure speculation here) they also want to have crewed landings on the Far Side sometime in the future

Updates Artemis Program Updates & Discussions

Apollo had 5 test flights (2 suborbital, 2 HEO, 1 LEO) dedicated in testing its heat shield performance before Apollo 8, while Orion had only EFT-1 doing it before Artemis 1. I think even if Apollo engineers had less experience in terms of actual spaceflight time, they understood more of how...
