    Support AMSO Reentry

RAng = 6.20° Ant = 8.58° Alt = 120.00 Km Works for me here. And as Mantis mentioned, my PeA prior reentry is at 42.28 km.

I heard this song so often the last couple of weeks. It fitted so well to my situation then. I met a woman that turned my world upside down. I was in love. Maybe too quickly, as of now, things don't look promising, she sort of quit our relationship about a week ago, for reasons I cannot grasp...

    Question General Spaceflight Q&A

Hello David, thanks for chiming in. Well, I'll let the autopilot do all the work of the ascent. The only thing I did is to fire translational RCS thrusters "downwards" during the programmed ET sep burn of your autopilot, to counter the upwards RCS thrust, only because I have the impression that...

    Question General Spaceflight Q&A

Ah shoot, sorry for that. Of course it is translational... And sorry, I was thinking with the Apollo spacecraft coordinate system. What I meant with translational actually is, they do not perform a burn "sideways", in order to get out of the orbital path of the ET!?

    Question General Spaceflight Q&A

Thanks Don! However, if I am right, plus Z means FORWARD (along the longitudinal axis of the Orbiter) and plus X means UPWARDS. But there is no translational component in it, is there? Not sure what I am doing wrong in the Orbiter simulation, but I exactly do that, thrust forward and up and do...

    Question General Spaceflight Q&A

Risk of hitting the ET after OMS-2 burn? Hello fellow orbinauts, this is something I was already wondering about serveral years ago, whenever using the great Shuttle Fleet in Orbiter, now it happened again while simulating STS-134. In the real world, is there any kind of "evasive" (RCS) burn...

This is the best flight sim movie I've ever seen to date. It was released in 2006 using "Lock On - Modern Air Combat", I figured to post it here now, just in case you missed it. Enjoy! Part I: http://youtu.be/1wEURyjB3Lc Part II (The best of all!) : http://youtu.be/lDHQjTxDRYk

    Updates MESSENGER Mission News

Cool. Congrats on the successful Mercury Orbit Insertion! Not sure if it has been mentioned before, there's a nice webtool from NASA, where you can follow also Messenger in realtime in 3D: http://solarsystem.nasa.gov/eyes/

Idea Mercury and Gemini add-on improvements

Hey Don, great work there on the Gemini upgrade! Estar's Gemini was the add-on I taught myself orbital mechanics back in the summer of 2003. I just wanted to go the same route as in the real world. One thing, and sorry if I missed something (I'm a bit out of the "Orbiter-Loop" for playing MSFS...

    New Release D3D9Client Development

Yes, works great here - as advertized. Jarmonik, do you have any idea what is causing the increasing brightness near the terminator as I had shown above? Thanks for your feedback and as always, thanks for your hard work on this beautiful new graphics engine!

    Humor Random Comments Thread

I want to be young again! ...oh please let me be young again! Today at work, while washing my hands in the bathroom, looking up into the mirror, it dawned on me like never before. It all of a sudden struck me out of nowhere. I am no longer 22 years or 25 or 27 years old. No more a twen or...

    New Release D3D9Client Development

Works as advertised here! No problems with planetary motions at all. I've seen only the limitations pointed out by Jarmonik already regarding this new client version. BTW, Jarmonik, the new skydome rendering looks outstanding. Love the gradual blue colors in the daytime sky. Played also with...
