News Heathrow reopens after Boeing Dreamliner 787 fire

To be honest, I would not like to be in a plane halfway over the Atlantic and it's on fire. And that is what the ordinary air traveller thinking when they read this. The A 380 also had it fair share of problems, but not on this scale.

News Asiana 777-200 Crash on landing at SFO

In FSX some advance panels also have lnav and vnav autopilot modes. I know what lnav is but are not sure about vnav. I know vnav it is related to the fmc and control altitude. I also noted that in this model when you set the flaps for landing, it automatically configure the speed settings for...

News Asiana 777-200 Crash on landing at SFO

I did a survey on Google Earth. Pointing a laser straight at the plane is ruled out. But from other locations it is possible. There is a small park at about 11 o clock from the plane position. It is alongside Bayshore highway and is only about 1800 to 2000 meters from where the plane was...

News Asiana 777-200 Crash on landing at SFO

And it bring me to this question. Should a HUD like in the B 787 not be helpful in such situations? I also noticed that their was a B 747 taxiing to runway 28L/R at the moment of the crash. The pilot's in the B747 surely do see it coming. Luckily the B 777 did not veer in their direction. Here...

Something distract the pilots. All pilots is trained to always watch their PFD at all times. Here is what a typical PFD looked like in landing mode and flaps fully extended: It's a PFD from FSX, but the real one should look the same...

News Asiana 777-200 Crash on landing at SFO

Is this crash not related to the crew become to independant on the aircraft ILS system? I watch a lot of landings on You Tube, and what fascinating me the most is the CAT 3 c landings in zero visibility. The autopilot actaully disconnect when they are already on the runway. I know the visibilty...

This is good news as well as bad news. Good in the sense that it is not a reoccurring BA038 incident. Bad, because people had died.:(
