Yesterday was a fun day for me. I guided a friend who's novice with Orbiter and SSV (but a KSP veteran) via Discord's screen share. We assumed the roles of CDR and PLT, him being the PLT and me the CDR yelling instructing him what to do. We continued on my virtual Space Program with Shuttle...

It's NASA AIrcraft Fleet 4.5 by David413 that you can find on Simviation here: https://simviation.com/1/browse-Orbiter+Addons-142-1 The plane doesn't work well on the ground (even with the legacy contact point addon), but once in the air, it flies normally. It's was made to work with...

Having fun transporting Provence back to the SLF :) After 3hours of flight, I'm almost there lol Already prepped the charts for BITHO7 approach to the KSC lol Will follow ORL (122.2) wich is the same in Orbiter (yay) So by entering the waypoints given by the charts, should be like this...

My turn my turn !! My flight was just before @LordCroussette. Soooo, this is LGS-5 flight. This mission is about bringing a module to an embryo of a Space station that I started 2 years ago in Orbiter 2010. Shuttle Massilia is on the pad. And "Lift off of Massilia, building the station and...

    Project Space Shuttle Vessel

Hello guys, long time no see ! Glad to see new versions of SSV ! Installed v1.5 (was on v1.3 since), my custom mission is still working, and already liked the new CAWS features, MPS/HYD when shutting down stuff in R2 panel, and OPS202 for the PLBD :) One question tho, are the lights in the...

There are no keyboard keybinds to interact with the Shuttle DPS/GPC, we have to click in the cockpit like we would click in a cockpit in a flight simulator. So for SSV, you have 2 scrachtpachs above the panel C3, you click on these numbers and items to select what you want to write (that will...

Space Shuttle Ultra Are there any tutorials on how to deorbit?

As @Urwumpe mentionned, SSU/SSV is a totally different beast that requires to think more like we do in a flight simulator (VC, avionics, clicky stuff) than we usually do in Orbiter (HUD, keyboard shortcut, etc). For the aiming part, I simply use the map (either the map in the MFD or the...

Space Shuttle Ultra Are there any tutorials on how to deorbit?

Hello, are you familiar with the spaceflight in Orbiter and the Space Shuttle in general, or you entirely new ? If you are not new, I can suggest two MFDs to help yo to do that (GlideSlopeMFD & BaseSyncMFD, they need ModuleMessagingExt to work together). They are pretty easy to understand and...

Question Glideslope / BaseSync reentry of STS/Shuttle Fleet Shuttle

In the video it was a Spaceplane by Kulch, but I also fly with the STS2016, SSV (and ShuttleFleet/BuranFleet on Orbiter 2010). I get similar results with these. For Glideslope I only choose the Space Shuttle preset, I don't touch anything else. I think you're good on the theory, that's what I...

Question Glideslope / BaseSync reentry of STS/Shuttle Fleet Shuttle

Hi @PriestLizard, I did a few flight since, and I did one timelapse to show you my results of what I was suggesting. Starting from 1 minute 10 seconds. I also realize that I don't really follow the yellow line (Alt) exactly, I always go 5km below to have more drag.

    Shuttle Reentry Computer problem

Hi, if you wish a good module to compute your deorbit burn, you can use GlideslopeMFD with BaseSyncMFD. They require ModuleMessagingExt to communicate between each other. With that you'll have no problem to make a deorbit burn right in parameters that the Shuttle requires for the EI Cheers.
