It was a really good race. Even though I’m a Silver Arrow fan, I didn’t like the stewards decision to hand Seb a 5 second time penalty. Each time I watch his error it seems more like a racing event not worthy of a penalty.
Ferrari brought its power unit and aero upgrades early and still couldn’t touch the Silver Arrows. What did all that “speed” in pre-season testing mean?
I feel for LeClerc. He made an error but he’s been brutally honest. Refreshing demeanor. On Ferrari’s decision making, I remain unimpressed. While I understand their designs, the mediums were the wrong tire for the cooling track conditions. Both Seb and Charles suffered. Yet again they manage to...
DID YOU SEE THAT RACE! LeClerc got hosed by a MGU-H failure. Seb screwed the pooch (again:uhh:), and Renault blows up (again:facepalm:). There were exciting midfield battles. Perhaps the Scuderia had the engines turned down in Australia to hide a potential turbo issue? They thought they’d...
Ferrari raced like it looked in Barcelona. Seb will need to look over his shoulder and keep an eye on Mercedes! The midfield is in action and the front is up for grabs. All the makings for an interesting season!
All may not be peaches & cream in the Mercedes camp over the summer break. When Bottas said “Wingman hurts” and Toto Wolf meant it as a compliment suggests Valteri feels under-appreciated. They may need to do more than find some more pace for the Silver Arrows.
2018 French quali. The Silver Arrows finally have upgraded power units. The Ferraris are potent but haven’t quite figured it out. Red Bull is still in the mix. Interesting new “old” track. There’s even a Sauber in P8:huh:
I think this time was a bit different. The crash you’re talking about was as Max was climbing up from the lower city and attempting a pass. This time he was on a fast lap and had to avoid hitting Sainz who was on the driving line but not at speed. Max avoided Sainz but tagged the wall, snapped...
Watched FP3 and quali. Verstappen played tag with the wall at the swimming pool chicane avoiding Sainz. The crash knocked him out of quali. Sounds like Christian Horner and Helmut Marko are pissed. For quali:Ricciardo, Vettel, Hamilton.
The Silver Arrow is acting like a diva again this year. Ricciardo’s Red Bull pit crew worked magic to get his car ready for quali after a blown turbo and the Honey Badger drove his @$$ off to make it into Q3. It will be interesting to watch the race play out Ferrari seems in command.
Curious. We set the same key command in the Lander and Ranger to toggle from orbital to atmospheric RCS settings. Pressing that command should change the console ATM annunciator from white to green indicating atmospheric RCS settings are active.
