I have improved the deorbit guidance and autopilot. Also updated the force on the parachutes due to Martian winds. I think I will be able to add them onto the aeroshell at a future date too.
I hope to continue with the documentation soon.
Hi,
Here is the latest version of the lander and launcher modules. Deorbit autopilot for the aeroasisted entry with the aeroshell should be working on the habitat lander. I haven't updated the cargo lander yet. Also included a new version of the launcher. The altitude of the orbit can be set...
Have been a bit slow with preparing the documentation but it's getting there.
While preparing a tutorial I noticed the deorbit autopilot needs updating as I couldn't reach the target after deorbiting. I think I know what the problem is so will fix it soon.
Here is a picture of the lander...
winds are added to the sounding rocket by switching focus to the rocket then pressing 1 which brings up some info and then pressing 2 to add winds.
The winds on the balloons should change with time, location and altitude. Daily variations are not modelled though. It's more like a daily average...
That's actually a good question because it's not documented! Pressing 4 on the main keyboard, before the parachutes are deployed, should do it. It only adds winds on the parachutes below an altitude of 9000 m if I remember correctly.
delta_glider, ok I will release the cargo lander next. First though I will fix the launcher mass issue.

Ah good point haven't checked with D3D9 yet!
Interesting ... haven't managed to reproduced those bugs with the launcher but have discovered a few other bugs and fixed those. Also noticed the launcher doesn't seem to add the payload mass to itself which I need to fix.
Been working a lot of the cargo lander. The guidance seems to be working...
Great, thanks delta_glider for trying it out!
Sounds like the meshes are being shifted down but not the attachment point. The whole rocket is shifted down after launch to put the centre of mass in the right place. I should be able to fix it quite quickly.
OK I think I'll try a different strategy and upload the files in a piecemeal fashion for testing rather than assembling the whole package. See how that goes.
First here is the DRM launcher dll and a test scenario. I have a new computer and development environment set-up so if someone could...
I'm not sure but the CTD might be related to not having LAUNCH or EMBARK sections in the scenario file, i.e. LAUNCH 1 tells it to launch when the scenario starts and LAUNCH 0 tells it to sit on the pad. I encountered some CTDs when updating it recently.
To make the launcher more useful it is...
Found the cause of the CTD for the 'at an altitude of 49 km' scenario. It is due to the cargo lander and is an autopilot related issue again. Have updated the code now. In the meantime if you want to load that scenario then the autopilot can be set to 0 in the scenario then it should load. .
You could try placing your payload directly under the rocket then press 0 on the main keyboard to attach it. There is no facility to rotate the payload once attached at the moment...
This should work:
