I guess it‘s better to let the experts do the math, or, as Urwumpe pointed out, at least refer to correct numbers and factors. There are already too many laymen around playing epidemiologist while making incortect assumptions and so contributing to rumors and half-truths. One doesn‘t really...

What do you do for a living?

One of my latest jobs was working for sales for a German market leader producing entrance mats (the ones you walk on when you enter a terminal building at an airport for example). It was kinda boring but the salary was good. I started pilot training seven years ago, but I got concerned about...

Went to a local DIY store today. All shelves are full of goods. I can buy everything I need. And there was barely customers. So I'm a little bit confused regarding the news media reporting massive delivery problems, shortage of goods and interminable queues over the counters like the world is...

Humor My flight computer is flooded with tons of outdated and useless MFDs

Which for me raises the question how large the community currently is  One of the worst things for software like this is when developers and community members disappear... (SSM for example)

How much nuclear power does the UK use and is it safe?.

Nuclear waste is a huge problem, or let's say it could become one in the future. But I am still with Elon Musk and others in that area. Like for example former ESA astronaut and physicist Ulrich Walter (STS-55). Nuclear power is something that we already have, on site it does not emit Co2 and it...

How much nuclear power does the UK use and is it safe?.

I have no idea about the energy situation in the UK to be honest. But I have to admit that IMHO wind-power is not a solution in any case. It might be from the engineering point of view. But it really ruins the nature, visually. It's so shocking to see all those towers and propellers in certain...

Definitely not. I'm often surprised about the negative perception of being old by people. Being old doesn't mean one has to be restricted. If you have a good disposition and take good care of yourself and if you love life then you can enjoy life and do stuff well beyond 80 and 90. My grandpa...

I think it was real emotions. One has to consider that he is 90 years old and facing the end of his life statistically any time soon as he exceeded the average life expectation in the US by more than 10 years. And then there comes this very special experience. He even refused the champagne and...

That‘s awesome regarding both. I really grant Shatner that trip. Also, I think it might be a benefit to send people from the aerospace industries into space this way as well. Without such companies those people might never be able to travel into space without complicated selection process and...

I also felt a sense of unease to be honest. But it was basically because all they did up there obviously was to throw balls and candies. If that's the purpose of space tourism, I don't get the sense. One can throw balls and candies in zero g for far less money on parabolic flights. New Shepard...

Not exactly a space flight video but definitely a space video that is too good for the random video thread... (it actually starts at 01:05)

Well, in my case it‘s 90-100 Km/h to previously 180 Km/h. Huge dfference indeed. I went from 180 Euro to 130 Euro per month, or from 3 tank contents down to a little bit more than 2. The computed range is pretty accurate.
