Advanced Question Moon curvature vs. Landing Pads elev and T/D points

Hi Brian. Thanks for your help. Has everything set up in a nice spreadsheet where I can use the ordinated values (X,Z) as input. However it is mindblowing to think that a local horizon only 1000 mtrs away on the moon dips by 30 cm. The moon is not that big after all. Cheers...Michael

Advanced Question Moon curvature vs. Landing Pads elev and T/D points

This applies to Orbiter 2010 (most likely different i 2016) Trying to create a lunar base with realistic dispersal of Landing pads (i.e. situated around 1000 mtrs away with the delicate infrastructure protected by large blast barriers etc. for the dreaded lunar dust) I realised that Pads placed...

    Programming Question SC3-SC4 Robotic Arms

I will John... I know you can do a much better job at this than I - so once I have the visual model and all the animations worked out I will send you a mail. I have never worked with moving attachmentpoints before and thought it would be cool if I could master it so I wanted to tinker with the...

    Programming Question SC3-SC4 Robotic Arms

Going through the manuals and scenarios/ini examples that comes with Vinkas SC3 with regards to Robotic arms there are no references to the use of robotic arms with other animationtypes than "Rotate". I also understand the syntax for the robotic arms when it comes to rotate as animations type...

Update Antares Spacecraft 3.0 (for Orbiter 2016) - updated version

Wonderful to see the excellent Antares Module go on in an Orbiter2016 incarnation. Hope that UMMU/UCGO get up and running to Orb2016 soon so these modules can be enjoyed together. But Really nice work with Antares Alas...has no time to test d2 other commitments at this time.

    Request multistage.dll

Or rename a COPY of multistage2015.dll to the original multistage.dll - a hack that has been cleverly suggested in here

    Request New module/modified mayfly.dll

A request for a module (or if anyone has an idea to the functionality described below: Think along the terms of the old faithful mayfly.dll by urwumpe. I need an extension to mayfly.dll so when the original vessel (the mayfly vessel) is deleted you have a syntax to call and thereby in...

    Project Multistage2015 - Development Thread

Try and have a look at the venerable Quasar and perhaps even Jarvis addons from FOI. I know that the Quasar launchpads (there are two) has some nifty effects and maybe also Jarvis (I havent used this one that much). And good news about Multistage from Vinka with relation to having the MS2015 as...

Project genericvessel - spacecraft3 and multistage2 replacement project

Well...what to say??? Personally I'm very glad for all the effort that you have put into GV. At least you should be credited for the all the hard work and all the rights thoughts that you put into this. And we will have to see what the future brings.

Project genericvessel - spacecraft3 and multistage2 replacement project

Gentlemen... I do hope that GV will still go on. I can say that it most certainly will live on in my hangar. IMHO a lot of things has been gained for the community with the birth of GV and has also given rise to ideas (as well as some heated debate:-)) There are also some bugs in the SC3 code...

    OHM Galaxy C5

Speaking UMMU capability. Tried to have this run with Genericvessel(GV) but it seems there is an incompatibility with these aircraft type of vessels and GV since an immediate CTD occurs when you open the throttle (when substituting GV with SC3). Off course they run fine under SC3. Strange...

    Project Multistage2015 - Development Thread

Hi Fred Did a quick test of this...and it works perfectly. Edited an MS2015 ini to amend a "dead" ghost payload (live=0) with a null mesh and some negative mass as the first payload in a payload stack. At scenario entry the negative payload mass is indeed subtracted from overall vehicle mass...

    Project Multistage2015 - Development Thread

Hi again Fred Another issue I have come across is mass update from additionally attached vessels. I’m working with a constellation type project in which a spacecraft has to perform EOR and dock with a final upper stage of a MS2015 vessel where after the MS2015 vessel shall perform a TLI burn...

    OHM Galaxy C5

In Orbiter for small fighter type Aircraft.. its...so so(IMHO). For large aircraft like the Galaxy and so... Terrible. This is not meant in any way negative towards the author of this particular aircraft or other authors of aircraft for orbiter in general. I guess its just a fact that the...

    Project Multistage2015 - Development Thread

Two things that I have noticed additionally working with MS2015(applies to 2010P1). If you open the MS2015 MFD in a DX9 EXT MFD, selects any other mode than FST (the default I guess) then... As MFD window is resized it reverts back to FST mode as it updates (whereas it should retain the...

    Project Multistage2015 - Development Thread

MS2015 developer As opposed to Booga I overall really enjoy the developer mode. Agreed...I have two large screens which helps a lot on the desktop real estate . So All in all...IMHO I think the developer mode is worth pursuing. I think it can get more people onboard making their own...

    Project Multistage2015 - Development Thread

Hi Fred. A minor thing... Concerning LES statement in the ini file. It seems that when a MS2015 vessel is restarted from a saved state from which this vessel already had jettisoned the LES...the LES reappears. This applies to the 2010P1 version on OH with the recent update (as opposed to the new...
