    Question AMSO

Speaking of misguided, what tells you I haven't learned IMFD?

    Question AMSO

In the actual mission the explosion took place after the crew made a mid course correction, they were on a free return trajectory until they made the correction and had to get back on that course using the LM descent module engine. Also, Interplanetary MFD is a bit too complicated to be using...

Flight Question DG to Moon Ejection Burn and Midcourse Correction

I haven't used Transfer MFD in a while, it's kind of obsolete in my opinion. I've been using LunarTransfer MFD, it's far simpler than TransX and features an autoburn that orients the spacecraft for critical burns. Sure it took some of the guesswork out of the transfer but in terms of running a...

A Return to the Moon by the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary.

Well, that seems inevitable now. http://www.space.com/27503-china-moon-mission-launch-thursday.html?adbid=10152411371986466&adbpl=fb&adbpr=17610706465&cmpid=514630_20141022_34195677 And I'm not a fan of SpaceX these days, they seem to be more talk than actual results. People have higher...

    I made this "2D Orbiter" at a game jam (also, it's open-source)

Pretty neat! However, have you tried the Interstellar app? The game is very similar.

A Return to the Moon by the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary.

I would like to see a small fire get lit under NASA's rear in regards to getting lunar missions happening again, and I'm even settling for those asteroid redirect missions that will orbit (but not land) on the moon. I also feel that given the more aggressive plans of China we ought to seriously...

    Cannot Download Orbiter Sound

Maybe try the download a little later at night. Otherwise I downloaded it rather quickly.

Are they crying sour grapes or rotten ones?

Request Any SLS and Orion MPCV in development?

New photo showing the orange core stage: It does appear now that there will be no all white SLS's launching past the tests.

News Mars One - settlement funded via reality TV in 2023

They are indeed contributing to human evolution by self-selecting themselves out of the gene pool by their own actions, so yes they do.

Request Any SLS and Orion MPCV in development?

That is a problem. But in true NASA form I'm sure this could be solved........with DUCT TAPE!

Request Any SLS and Orion MPCV in development?

Looks great. I was thinking about this too. Seeing as the interstage cover on the SLS for the EUS is larger would it be possible for the smaller ICUS and an Altair to fit in that space. You really don't need an upper stage as large as the EUS to get to the moon.

Well, not until AFTER they've squeezed every penny out of their "astronauts" will they get them killed. Dead men can't write checks.

Request Any SLS and Orion MPCV in development?

True, I'm not finding anything definitive about the EUS other than it's under development.

    Launch News X-37B OTV-3, Atlas V 501, December 11, 2012

So the USAF's mystery space plane is supposed to return today Was this supposed to be a secret? They sure did suck at keeping it one. Anyway, it's supposed to come back today but the Air Force will of course neither confirm or deny that, so thankfully we have every news outlet in the...

News Mars One - settlement funded via reality TV in 2023

They have a vessel, whether or not it's working is debatable. The Mars One organizers were raffling off a ride on this questionable vehicle in order to raise more funds. Their grand prize might not turn out to be so grand. And like I said earlier, I really do feel bad for these candidates who...

News Mars One - settlement funded via reality TV in 2023

I consider it one. Look at all the false advertising in the name alone? Galactic? The damned thing barely gets over the Karmann line. And now its going though a redesign phase, not a single passenger has flown it OR been reimbursed for any money paid to be on the first flight. In other words...

News Mars One - settlement funded via reality TV in 2023

People should have seen this for the scam that it is. The applicants paid for consideration, they burned through that money then had to pander for donations offering a ride on the Virgin Galactic fraud. A couple years ago they said they were gearing up to send robotic set up missions in 2016...

Updates NASA Commercial Crew Integrated Capability (CCiCap)

How I feel about this function over form, we really need to move on with this love affair with winged spacecraft. That said, I do not think SNC was ready at the appropriate times. The approach and landing test is evidence of that, and before people claim it was "borrowed landing gear" why was it...
