Hi everyone,
I got some work done on the last three main panels: the side ones and the overhead. I began to think about game implementation and optimization and decided I will do these panels in a game-ready manner. So I made a base texture in Blender for a scratched gray painted metal. Then I...
Happy new year everyone !
Some progress on the lower panel and the water management system :
next I will work on the switch-indicators wich are a little bit difficult to make (with multple baking passes for the normal maps, different illumination colors etc...)
Thanks Max-Q ! I've encountered this website but since I need to request documents i never went further. Any help with documentation about gemini would be helpful if you have some and can legally share it.
By the way, i had the opportunity to visit the science museum in Los Angeles a few years ago, and i regret not taking more pics for reference! (But the nasty plexiglass had bad reflections...)
Hi, yes if you have any documents of value, it would really help the project, especially if these are not NASA documents from the NTRS or mission reports. Obviously the best would be having McDonnell blueprints but i think that's in my dreams !
Belive it or not, but i spent 5 hours finding what label was "FDI" below "ion sensor" It is a gemini X and XII experiment and i didn't find any pictures or chart precise enough to be readable. But at last i found a lost pdf on the nasa sever describing the procedures linked with the experiment...
Some progress on the pilot and commander panel. Note that textures are not definitive since blender shader cant't translate into game shader. A big pass of UV unwrapping will follow, but as you can imagine, i am a bit reluctant to do that.
You are right, the configuration of the panels, experiment specific hardware, and so on made each Gemini spacecraft unique.I found a way to get access to mission reports wich includes crude descriptions of the cabins and I rely on photographs. Sometimes it's very very hard to know how a specific...
Hi everyone, it's been a while. I had the opportunity to work on some parts. I made good progress on the equipement between the seats ( water management system, storage and main cabin lights). I also improved the central main panel.
next i want to continue working on panels and buttons.
I tried VR in blender to verify if things are done reastically and I got a sense of how tiny it was (especially when you have to spend more than a whole week in it !)
Some progress made those last days :
Seat rails
back bulkead equipement
center console
center panel
main panel handle
side panels protection grids
side panel equipement
I think next i will work on the equipement between the seats.
Hi everyone,
Here are some pictures of a project i started two years ago. Since i have no official blueprint, everything is done by guessing the dimensions from pictures, open nasa documentation and drawings. The first attempt i made was not precise enough so i decided to start over and gather...
