    MJoy16 problems (solution?)

The controls of my SimPit are based upon the MJoy16 circuit. I've built 3 of them and when they work, they work very well. However, I believe the circuit is flawed. The fact that it is based upon a hack to make it work with USB means that it is flawed from the beginning. But, looking at the...

    Translation controller

What attempts have been made at building translation controllers? I've been bouncing that idea around in my brain since I started my pit. Oddly, I just happen to work with one of the guys who built the original translation controller for the Space Shuttle :speakcool:. He showed me some...

    Have you named your simpit?

bpops named his "The Stargazer", but everyone else just seems to call theirs "my simpit". Ya gotta name your ship! I've been trying to come up with a name for mine. I think something in Latin would be appropriate (I sing Gregorian Chant at church). Any suggestions? Robb

Software Graphics stutter when MFDs update

I have a Sempron 2400+, 3/4GB ram, ATI AIW Radeon 7500. My graphics seem to stutter once a second. Very noticable when rotating. The graphics are smooth, but then pause, and jump forward once a second. It's like nothing gets drawn for a fraction of a second when the MFDs get updated. I've...

    Switches or buttons only?

I have a dilemma I need to solve before I proceed. Should I put buttons, switches and knobs in my pit, or just buttons only? The reason I ask is if I plan on switching between different vessels during a simulation, and I have switches, those switches will no longer be in the right position for...

    Head tracker idea

For my new simpit, I'm thinking about implementing a kind of head tracker device. Let me know what you think. Attached to the headrest or wall of the simpit right behind the pilot's head would be three "string pots" whose strings would attach to the pilot's headset near the left and right ear...

    Yet another new simpit

Well, after tossing the idea around for the longest time, it took all the news about the 40th Anniversary of the Apollo landing to light a fire under my butt. I've finally decided to build my simpit. Lots of ideas, lots of questions. Here's what I have so far. I found a Thrustmaster F-16...
