I think there was a thread in this forum about developing russian lunar modules (based on sketches from astronautix and Salyut stations (for textures)) for the Vulcan rocket (never released by kulch). Might be worth digging through the pages to try and find it, it contained a lot of useful...

Disabeling StateSaver Autosave solved the falling cargo problem for me.

Could somebody verify this: when in VC you hit the orbit normal autopilot button you can't turn it off without going into glass cockpit mode.

Why a competitor? The ETS launcher family will fill up the gap. Energia is excellent for big heavy payloads, but is overkill for smaller payloads, so these launchers will fit in nicely :thumbup:
