    OHM Orion 1.22

I only just checked back on this to see if anyone had said something new, and I discover there's a whole new Orion! Fantastic job, atomicdryad! Many thanks for this.

OHM LolaMFD for Orbiter 2010 (new corrections)

I just tested the latest LolaMFD, and it has fixed the NaNSpace problem, at least as far as my landings on Europa go. Nicely done! :tiphat: If I may be permitted one minor gripe, is there any way to remove the text which now shows up on the lower left of the screen when LolaMFD is enabled? It's...

Question What are your favourite pictures and why? (space related)

Venturing outside our solar system, here are two amazing images. This is a Chandra X-ray image of a gas cloud illuminated by energy from a pulsar. The resemblance to a human hand, albeit a three-fingered cartoon character's hand, is uncanny. I dread to think what the 'face on Mars' crowd think...

Question What are your favourite pictures and why? (space related)

For the Europa partisans, a view from Voyager 1. :salute: Also in the icy moon category, the fascinating Enceladus. One of the growing list of moons that really deserves its own orbiter and lander. Better yet, a manned expedition. Perhaps one day...

OHM LolaMFD for Orbiter 2010 (new corrections)

NaNspace? Hah, I hadn't heard that one before, though I have seen it before. I tried landing at Brighton Beach from LLO, and LolaMFD pulled it off perfectly. As I did that from a lower orbit (44 km v. 80 km) I tried again at Europa from an even lower altitude on the off chance there is...

OHM LolaMFD for Orbiter 2010 (new corrections)

I tried this new Lola version while trying to land a DG at the UCGO Europa base. I enter an orbit which carries me over the base, activate LolaMFD, and wait for it to start the burn. Within about 30 seconds of starting the burn it inevitably fails. The first two times it was a CTD. Now it...

Question What are your favourite pictures and why? (space related)

This is one I quite like. It reminds me of sitting outside in the cold with my old Dobsonian scope, watching Io transit. I'm also a fan of photos which remind us those distant points of light are real, three-dimensional places.

    OHM Orion 1.22

Has anyone tried this with the latest Orbiter? With Orbiter 2010-P1, I find the ships are invisible. Also, when i enter the cockpit there's no propellant in the tank. I tried installing the CVE-lite library and Velcro rockets in the hope I was just missing an obscure file, but no dice. N.B. I...

Updates NASA New Horizons Mission Updates

As of October 16, 2010, (or 17th - timezone depending) New Horizons is half way to Pluto. That's half way in mission time - it hit the half way distance point in February. :tiphat: http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/index.php All hail the true probe!

Project High Velocity Interplanetary Passenger Spacecraft

Score one for old-school, engines-at-the-back, pusher designs! Engines at the back with tons of shielding in between, at least. Reminds me of one of the ships from Saturn's Children. Seriously, though, this was a promising design with an interesting approach. I hope the experience will lead you...

    Project Discovery II

Wow, is that actually Discovery II docked to the ISS? I can only imagine the anxiety among the station crew as all that mass approached them, even if it was only a few cm/s. Seriously, though, the ship is looking great. The more plausible deep space vessels in Orbiter to choose from, the...
