2001: A Space Odyssey at 50

Hard to believe this movie is so old, now, but it still is one of the greatest films of all time, and of course a huge inspiration to us Orbinauts.

Word has it that Christopher Nolan is preparing a 70mm copy of the film for a re-release in theatres. You better bet I'll be looking out for that!

Had the good fortune to see this on a visit to London with my parents when it was in general release, must have been 16?. Somewhere in the West-End, either way a proper presentation when film theatres had curtains in front of the screen, and an intermission.

Was in the stalls, screen was several storys high, and sound I hadn't heard before. The sequence from the apes to Strauss...
