We have written a new hack so that images in posts that you quote will be automatically replaced by the text {image} with a hyperlink to the original image.

For example, here is some content and an image:

Underground river in Jenolan Caves
picture.php

If you'll endulge me to quote myself, it looks like:

picture.php

This should make it easier for you when replying to and/or when viewing threads that contain a lot images.

If you need to have an image visible in a quote (for example, quoting a news article), just make sure there are no arguments provided to the the [quote] tag. For example, the bbcode [quote]An oak tree[IMG]http://www2.slac.stanford.edu/tip/2005/may6/trees-web.jpg[/IMG][/quote], produces:
An oak tree
trees-web.jpg

Great work. But now I need to find some of old posts I made, where I quoted images from external articles along with text, to edit them and move those images out of quotes (or change them to use "imglink").

Thanks for the feedback.

I've updated this feature so that images will still be displayed when no argument is provided to the [quote] tag. The OP above has been edited to include this information also.
