This script MFD tries to create a limited Air Traffic Control emulation for your airplane flight in Orbiter.

Select a VOR, ILS, VTOL or XPNDR at your NAV1 and, depending on the type of the tuned facility and your present position, you will be controlled in a taxi to takeoff, a left handed landing pattern , a route to a VOR station, VTOL landing or takeoff or Ground Controlled Intercept procedures. Do not forget to squawk your transponder and reply quickly ( or have your copilot doing these things).

Be sure to read all the instructions in the documentation file. This is a script MFD and some special procedures apply.

v0.16 Beta A new change in text placement routine to fix bad results evidenced by further testing.

v0.17 Beta Corrected bugs that made Orbiter crash on ativating the MFD with Transponder or IDS transmitters tuned.

v0.20 Beta Squawk and radar contact are now coherently required before any instruction is given; Significant (but still WIP) cleaning up of the code regarding update step task processing pathway control; Pilot now gives  relative position and ATIS info on call when flying inbound or requesting taxi .

v0.30 Beta Ground Control Intercept procedure was added along with some related testing DG scenarios. A direct to final leg  procedure and clearance landing mode is now engaged if the controller is called within ILS alignment and glideslope conditions.A scenario was added to illustrate and test this feature.

v0.33 Beta Corrects and improves interception control procedure routine to handle a broader set of possible situations.

v0.34 Beta Improved ( I hope) VTOL procedures. A version 0.34.4B is supplied for testing with Orbiter 2016 beta (rev 55).

v 0.35 Still perfecting VTOL procedures. Some confusing situations adressed. Takeoff clearance is now granted only if resting on the pad related to the tuned VTOL facility.

v 0.37 First version for the Orbiter 2016 , incorporating changes for the new airspeed vector and altitude commands. From this version on you must follow Surface MFD and not the HUD for the 'barometric' altitude asked by the controller.

v0.38 A patch that solves the issue of an incorrect NAV altitude setting when entering landing procedure directly on final. A badly tested disaster release. Sorry!

v0.38a Corrects simulaton crashing due to lack of reassignment for the altitudes in  redefined waypoints.

v0.39 Some corrections regarding D3D9 Graph Client behaviour. Tried to minimize issues regarding Scenery Editor time changes while running a controlled leg. New on screen messages and replies (which can be turned off by the user) allow the use of a minimized and hidden external MFD.

Dear Interceptor,

Thanks a lot for your interest in my work.

To tell you the truth although I considered using it on other planets and moons. I haven't tested it anywhere but on good old Earth.

Seems it is time to do otherwise....

All procedures are in place now and it's really a matter of universalizing and debugging.

Specially I think it should work on a Shuttle A tail braking and VTOL on Brighton Beach.

I'm certain we'll find out that both VTOL procedures can be improved.

Let me see...

NOTE: I think you will like the refueller intercept and refuel scenario. Did you try it? Got it?
