Heya Tinfish!! Welcome to the forum! :welcome:

Your video.... oh my! WOW! That is your best film yet that I've seen mate. Very highly impressed with the effects and how you brought the shuttle together with all those cosmic shots. Really really good stuff mate. I'm gonna have to work harder on my next Orbiter film now! j/k! ;)

Thanks very much for sharing with us. :)

Hi Tex,

Great site! Love the colour profile. Very mellow.

Thanks for the pos comments on the video. On the main Orbiter forum its often hard to get responses from members ...although a few comments would be nice (hint) :) But Ive had a good response on other forums (flightsims etc) so far.

It was tricky to put this video together, but really fulfilling to be working on top-rate Hubble material footage like that.

I'm aiming to get the hi res version uploaded to a web site somewhere, and I'll post the link around the forums.

Meanwhile, version 2 is now uploaded to Youtube. It includes as few subtle edits and fixes (namely the lips/mouth at the very end of the video, which someone said was distracting) ;)

Cheers.

Tin

I think by watching this video that you might enjoy my next add-on:
I am using ShuttlePB meshes because I don't have any asteroid meshes at the moment. ;)

ATField.jpg

The twist in this add-on would be that these asteroids will be created/destroyed dynamically. It would be very much like an asteroid field.

Oh, nice, Ctrex!

This looks like another giant leap for Orbiter (after your awesome flyby utility).

Got a link yet?

Cheers

Tinfish, here's a demo screen shot. I just created this mesh in anim8or. I will of course make the visual appearance of each asteroid random. I started the entire project at 3 AM last night...I worked on it for maybe 5 minutes. Then I worked on it for 15 minutes after coming form school. The point is, this is just a prototype:

:p Love your style of operation, Ctrex!

Looks like a promising project and would certainly be a step forward for Orbiter towards those Hubble-style graphics and asteroids etc

PS: Thanks Jord. You can make em like that if you get into blue-screen or green-screen editing (using sony vegas etc)
