The Dnepr rocket is a Russian/Ukrainian space launch vehicle based on the liquid-fuelled R-36M UTTCh ICBM (SS-18 Mod 4) that is now operated by launch provider “Kosmotras” to deliver satellites and spacecraft to orbit.

Addon includes two configurations:
Dnepr LV with standard Head Module for a group of small satellites;
Dnepr LV with extended Head Module for a single large-size satellite.

Also addon includes launch silo (launch site 109, Baikonur) and several satellites for payload.

I like it! Is this small satellites that it would be deploying?
This is satellites Deimos 1, UK-DMC 2, Nanosat 1B, AprizeSat 3 and 4, that were launched as piggyback payload on July 29, 2009.

Awesome addon, Scorpius! The Dnepr is just as detailed as your Angara, and I'm already imagining the satellites you've included in my own fictional Orbiter-verse. Thank you.

Excellent! This one came just in time for its next launch on March 25/6 (one of 6 launches planned in 3 days next week) so I can include it too!

Excellent! I'm very happy this LV made it to O-H, IMHO it's a wonderful launcher.
Thank you very much!

Really cool. Not only a launcher, but also the silo and the nanosats.

Thank you.

Thank you for your good comments! Work on this was a bit more complicated, had to use some unusual tricks to get everything work properly. So, I am glad that you liked the result! :)

Scorpius is a master of making the most of the multistage dll.

After taking this for a spin, I've found it to be one of the most unique launchers.

The silo launch is interesting as other converted ICBMs (Titan, Minotaur) were modified for conventional tower launch. In real life, does this pose issues for payload encapsulation?

At any rate, I am super impressed how you modeled the cold launch in this add-on.

Also, the "backwards" third stage is a clever and unique concept.

Given the political and financial troubles of certain entities, hopefully the Dnepr will continue to be launched...

@ Greycat, does the scenario crash as soon as it opens? Does it even get that far? Or does it crash as the rocket is in flight?

I hate to mention the obvious, but it's bitten me more than once on a "new" Orbiter install, but... Stage.dll should have come along with multistage2. When Orbiter '10 come around, multistage rockets worked A-OK, but when the rocket would go through staging, those stages would vanish as soon as they separated from the rocket.

[ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4661"]Stage.dll for Orbiter 2010[/ame] was written as a quick fix and took care of that problem. From your log file, it looks as if it is missing alltogether.

Slight graphical problem- the spent stages don't seem to fall away so much as they disappear. I've seen this in addons for 2006, but never before in addons for Orbiter 2010. Any ideas as to how this can be fixed?
Also: great addon!

Slight problem- everything goes fine up to the point at which I ignite the retros. I have already turned retrograde and pressed G, but I can't get the engines to ignite. Well, I can, but they don't produce any thrust, nor do they consume fuel. The only indication that they are firing is the engine sound and the throttle gauge in the top-left of the HUD. Any ideas?
Also: great addon!

Why would you ignite the retro's? IIRC you turn retro, and then fire the mains.

Sounds like you need Stage.dll replacement by BrianJ.

Or you can switch to multistage2015.

I'm by no means saying you have to do this, and I don't have any expectations for you to, but how would you feel about doing an addon for the Rockot launcher? All your addons are such high quality, and I feel that the only addons out there to replicate it feel either unfinished or are very old. Entirely your choice, though, this is just an idea.
