I'm building a simpit for Orbiter. But I cannot use the usual spaceships. Is it possible to use Orbiter for only the visuals and have an external program running all the avionics?
Maybe a 2D avionics Java program that takes all the calculations from Orbiter and injects the movement back into Orbiter. The avionics will be like MFDs from Aretmis (see image below) with programs for navigation, life support, power etc. Kinda inspired by this detailed ship sim. But instead of hardware buttons I'll be using touchscreens.
