Sennheiser are great headphones, not just for gaming. Whatever you chose, go to the store and ask to test them out before buying.

Its hard to find something of Sennheiser that is really bad - but it is also one of the more expensive brands to buy.

Not really. My HD-201s only cost about $20, and that was five years ago.

The best headphones I've ever paid that little for.:)

Thanks all for commenting,I have heard very good things about Sennheiser, and sony, price isn't too much of an issue as long as it's in the $400,and under range.

Well the rival products in the form factor start at around $5 then - and are really bad. The HD-201 is around 22€ currently here.

I would suggest sony MDR-V6 (a bit pricey, can find on sale though), along with picking up a modmic to put on it. I haven't actually picked up a modmic yet, full disclosure, but I have never heard a bad word about them, and plenty of pros use them, too.
