Just trying to work out how to use the orbiter_ng server with a render engine. I've got the orbiter_ng server running on a remote server, how to I connect the render engine on my PC to it?

Uhm... I don't think anyone's ever done that remotely before. It would be way too slow, I think... :shifty:

You're supposed to have the dll of the render engine locally, and simply add it in the modules tap of the launchpad.

Artlav did that with OGLA AFAIK. He stopped development, though.

OGLA could connect remotely? Never realised that...

I'm not sure if it was the regular OGLA version, but he sure showed a demonstrator concept that consisted of a server part running orbiter_ng and a thin-client that connects and displays the results. Meshes and textures were transferred on startup IIRC.
