More the style and production values of the movies, above.

Sean Connerey was my era Bond(bit like Dr Who!) Went downhill after him, don't mention George Lazenby(he couldn't help it) or Roger Moore( neither could he).

Best Film:
From Russia With Love(Thunderball a second only as it has a Vulcan water landing).

Best fight scene:

Adversary is Robert Shaw, good old actor.

Wow. Makes you realize how old Connery is now. I agree he was the best Bond. The only one I really couldn't stand was Timothy Dalton. That guy almost ruined the franchise for good.

id say that Sean also makes a pretty good ex-SAS-"criminal" in "The Rock", certainly has the right persona for some of those jokes!

I actually liked the George Lazenby film.

Her Majesty's Secret Service, for those that may not know.

Notebook: Timothy Dalton :p That's enough proof to show that Bond is a time lord.

Due to an itch of not watching/reading part N without first seeing parts 1..N-1, i've watched all the bond movies.

More memorable were the GoldenEye and Moonraker.
Goldfinger is pretty good, and the one with the ejection chair left an impression.

Don't really remember separate impressions of the other ones - it was back in VHS era, and triggered by "Die another day" coming out.

Generally, older movies were more detailed, middle ones were trashy, and latter ones shallowly flashy.

I've seen all the bond movies at least once, but the Sean Connery era was the best, followed by Craig era, Brosnan, Moore, Dalton, and Lazenby. The earlier movies focused too much on gadgets, and was set around the Cold War, and since everyone was used to those types of Bond movies, when Casino Royale was released (which restarted the Bond series into a more modern setting), everyone still expected a Cold War era Bond movie. I like all of the movies, but if I had to divide them into which were the best by actor, then that would be my picks.

that's pretty brutal! very well made fight scene. really seems like a struggle, not over the top, overly cinematic or unrealistic...

I don't know why everyone bags on Lazenby. I thought he did pretty good given the script he had to work with. And Diana Rigg (Mrs. James Bond) was hot back in the day. I used to watch Avengers reruns just to look at her. I guess my list would go Connery, Craig, Brosnan, Moore, Lazenby, and waaaaay in back....Dalton. Honorable mention to David Niven from the spoof version of Casino Royale.

Yea, as all fight scenes should be, nasty, short, and brutish. Acording to this chap:

I think you have all seen above before, but worth repeating?

According to my taste, Roger Moore was a better Bond than Sean Connery. Followed by Pierce Brosnan and now Daniel Craig. Timothy Dalton was boring, and George Lazenby as well. They simply had the wrong faces.

These are my favourite Bond movies:

One of the best Bond fight scenes ever:

I like Daniel Craig especially because he doesn't really fit to the picture of Bond. He is a completely new guy. Bad-ass, and he doesn't personify the boring womanizer nonsense and the trashy 1960s shaken, not stirred thing.

Daniel Craig has a sort of Steve McQueen-ish vibe about him which makes him a good choice. He is a throwback to the 60s in some ways, but without the suave styling. Dalton was the "sensitive modern guy" which is why he was awful.

Right behind you - don't look!
Well, this is the day: 50 years since Dr. No premiered. Steal a microfilm, have a martini, blow up an archvillain's lair, kiss a pretty girl. Order at your discretion. :camera:
