Check in the simpit section here on the forum, it's been done with other android tablets. I don't know all the ins-and-outs of doing it, just that it has been done.

When I looked through the Black Friday ads I spotted the Kindle Fire-7 (8Gb) on sale for $30.

I know they're Android based, and it looks like there's a program for using an Android tablet as a second monitor:

Are they suitable as cheap MFDs for a simpit?

Cheers!

Hey there!

As far as I know, if a device has a wifi module and you can install a VNC app, it's suitable for this purpose. Simple as that.

I have positive experience of connecting my several different android devices as MFD including Samsung galaxy 2 & Samsung note 3 phones, 2 Prestigio tables and 10.1" Samsung galaxy tab 2 as well.

Cheers, Phil
