How hard is it to create a new airport/base? I was hoping to make it myself, but after looking at the config files for existing bases and ar81's tutorial on orbithanger, I know it is beyond my ability.

it makes base creation easy.

SBW is a big help in putting things in the right place. I've used it to add stuff to existing bases and realy cuts down the time it takes compared to the old "trial and error" method.

Hi MAPitard. Here is something that you might want to try: Xplane to Orbiter converter [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1423"]X-Plane to Orbiter Airport Converter v1.5[/ame]

It will format the runways for a particular airport. You would still need to convert the .cfg to the current base format:

BASE-V2.0
Name = Billings Logan International
Size = 2000
Location = -108.542889 45.807667
MapObjectsToSphere = TRUE

Then you could use Surface Base Wizard to add surrounding building objects...or hard code (write in) using a text editor like Notepad. I have made quite many airports this way.

Hope this helps.
