Is it possible that the beta version of Orbiter 2016 doesn't load the .mkr files? I've tried to do the first P22 of AP 11, but there are no Apollo Navigation Landmarks in the selection list for surface markers, although the .mkr is in the /Config/Moon/Marker folder.

Yes. It reads the label layer in Textures\Moon\Archive\Label.tree instead. If you want to use the old-style mkr files, take out the LabelFormat = 2 line from the config.

The old format probably wouldn't support using elevations for landmarks anyway, which is important for landmark tracking in Orbiter 2016. So I guess we have to work on a modified Label.tree file?!

First we'd have to find how the landmarks really look like. A-1 is a bad example for it: the photo in the doc is in fact a black rectangle with some white stripes. CP-1/10 and CP-2/10 are excellent, CP-1/8 is next to the infamous keyhole crater. Guess we'll have to provide annotated screenshots...
