Perhaps Orbiter isn't the best way to simulate this, but has anyone made a simulation of a meteor shower?

I'd like to see objects of various sizes and various trajectories, to see what they look like hitting the earth's atmosphere.

Ranging from the size of sand grains (as in common meteor showers such as Perseids) to really big, nasty brutes (~100 m or even larger).

Speed range: 11 kps (minimum) to 73 kps (maximum I've heard of).

I might kluge something together...perhaps with the scenario editor. Any ideas, folks? :)

Actually, I do remember seeing an add on that simulated meteors and such. Search the Hanger in the MFD/Developer tools area. I'm afraid you'll have to scan the list because I can't remember what it was called. It came out a month or three back.

Thanks tgep!

There is this one by Kev Shanow: [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=332"]Meteor Shower[/ame]

...added 4 years ago. Did you say there was something more recent, somewhere?

Cheers

I think that's the one I saw. I wasn't sure when it was added. There's also a new Earth Atmosphere parameter set out.... but I haven't tried it yet.
