I've noticed several timesthat my Orbit MFD behaved rather "inconsistently", my Periapsis and Apoapsis kept constantly changing, both the numbers and the displayed point on the MFD.

What's the reason for this? Is it a bug, or is it something wrong with my orbit?

An MFD behaving like this makes rendevouzing with the ISS quite a nuisance.

Cheers

It seems you have nonspherical gravity sources turned on.
This enables simulation of the uneven gravity field of earth and thus adds to realism.
Unfortunately OrbitMFD is not equiped to compensate for that and is showing only what it thinks how your orbit is now.
You can simply disable it in the parameters tab.

Happy Orbiting

However, it is usually a good idea to keep it enabled, it is more realistic with it on.

Yes, but also much harder. Beginners should start without and later enable it, as, like you said, it is more realistic - and allows lots of fun. For example sun sync orbits.

Even if someone is a Noob I don't think they should turn off critical elements like gravity effects to make the sim easier. The best way to learn is to learn the right way. Perfect practice makes perfect, not easy practice. :)

Even aerospace students first learn about the stuff simple. Without non-spherical gravity. Without Moon or Sun disturbing the world.

Nobody learns things right, when things are too complex to be understood. :p

Hang on... the sun and moon interfere with LEO orbits? :p

Yes, of course. Even Jupiter does. Did you think making the oceans go up and down is enough for them? ;)

Isn't this gravity polution?!
Doesn't this come close to littering?
Those objects should be arrested and put to work (in the XR2 factory)!

If you don't lay down flat on the ground immediately and stop moving around, I'll sue you for gravity pollution as well!

I am just counteracting Venus right now.
But go ahead and arrest me. Then you will be the one responsible for destroying the equilibrium of the solar system!

My mother in law is a non-spherical gravity source... unfortunately there's no check box to disable her. :(
