Thanks for your help, I replaced AsiaSAT-3 with a Shuttle PB, and it worked. I changed it back to AsiaSAT-3, and strangely the scenario worked, including all the others. Only the triple GLONASS launch is crashing, but as I wanted to play all the ISS flights it's ok now.

I love the failures and the tracking in Google Earth, a great way to see what happens to all that stages.

Is there any way to explain such Proton autopilot behaviour?

picture.php

It was launched from Kulch's SRC on Sumatra, lat. 1.34°N, with desired inclination set to 1.5°, and never reached it anyway (resulting inclination was something about 2.5°).

I have also geleral question about using autopilot in order to reach specific equatorial inclination. Are there any limitations or rules about it (except of 'minimal inclination equal to latitude')? What is valid range of desired inclination to set? Is there any way to shift LAN dy 180° to launch Proton southwards from northern hemisphere?
I just can't get the pattern of how it works from my experiments. Sometimes it reaches absolutely unexpected inclinations.

Can it be launched from anywhere except of Baikonur anyway?

Wow that trajectory is scary, I guess that the ground teams are running for cover !

I also get small inclination errors, in the range of 1°, when launching from Baikonur.

I didn't test Proton for lower than Baikonur inclinations so anything could happens. In fact, roll program was optimized for 3 default inclinations: 51.6, 64.8 and 72.7 deg. and any other inclinations could give error within 1 deg.

Hello, the Proton launch vehicle looks really great. But the crash upon first staging in Orbiter 2010 (clean 100606 + OrbiterSound 3.5) prevents me from being able to say more.

I stopped using the 2006P1 version since the different texture loading prevented me from using hi-res launch complexes (unless a slideshow-style launch is desired.)

I'd like to get your ISS Addon working in 2010, but this is the first on the list of required addons.

I understand that this was made for the 2006 version. But whenever your schedule allows to fix this, it will be much appreciated :tiphat:

v2.2 works perfectly on a fresh Orbiter 2010 P1 !

Thanks Thorton for that quick update ! Proton rocks !

Edit : a special + for the night launches... Seeing the service tower slowling rolling back into the shadow is awesome ! And of course, the now "real" spotlights towers add a lot of ambiance to the scene :p

Just installed from orbithangar. No CDT, but when the scenario loads none of the meshes show up and everything is on the equator.

My log displays the following:

You are not using the 2010 P1 version, for which the addon is designed.

Reading...a very important cultural skill.

You're so right !!

If we found one day an "evolved" extraterrestrial civilization, I would very very curious to know if they use a written support. I'd be almost sure that yes.

And if they used something else to transmit knowledge while making it "shared" and "residual", that would be very interesting too.

And that would not be obvious to understand. See : we currently use writing and reading, but through electromagnetical impulsions and storage devices, and dedicated interfaces (keyboard & screen). The only device that can make the thing real is the printer. If we had the opportunity to study a completely alien equivalent system, I'd say that there would be a lot of work...

I dont know what else to say. but very great addon. but one problem occurs. the scenarios that use the satellites for example the Sirius does not achieve orbit. I don't know why.

Most of the satellites which are using tugs (DM or Breeze) are heavy to reach the orbit, so Proton brings them to the suborbital trajectory only. So you need to perform another manual burn to circularize the orbit.

The download said fully compatible with Orbiter2010, so I kinda guess it worked for 2006 too, never mind... my bad for not reading the docs

2010 is only slightly backwards compatible to 2006, which means some add-ons from 2006 can still work, but not the other way around. Add-ons of 2005 or earlier are even completely broken.

martins did warn often enough in the past versions that compatibility of future versions is not guaranteed.

I also recommend you using 2010P1 now. There are no critical bugs, and the performance is even slightly better than 2006, if you keep your 2006 settings, for example just level 10 textures.
