Simulating A Cockpit

Hi!
This a project am trying to take up.I basically want to use the Orbiter Software and simulate a space shuttle.Including the various HUD's and other instruments. So that a person feel's dat he's sitting in actual space craft.Things like making an actual throttle like structure and Having a different screen to display the various read outs etc etc.I basically do not want all the information to be on a single screen and have it on different displays.I just wanted to know if this sort of thing is possible and if anyone has any idea where i can start with this?
