Since my reappearance, I have also been screwing around a bit with Celestia.

This is Circumspace all grown up:thumbup: I  this thing.

Some of my favorite places to visit are

The Pleiades. Imagine looking up at night and seeing half a dozen blue stars as bright as Venus in one piece of sky:huh: Not to mention one (Alcyone) that's way brighter than the full Moon!

Mizar. I wasn't aware this was a double system until recently. I knew about Alcore, but that's an optical double--sort of. It's less than a light year from the system.

Deneb. Just for the sheer distance :)

So, fellow Celestia fans, what are your favorite stellar vistas?

Is celestia a dead project?

That's what I've heard--but it's still downloadable, and still awesome:thumbup:

I quite enjoyed Albireo.
What is of interest there? I checked, and saw only a few first magnitude stars. Other than the fact that it's certainly bigger than the orbit of Mercury, and probably Venus, what should I take note of?

Cute trinary star system actually.
